MANDATE

The municipal Planning and Development Office(MPDO) serves as the backbone of a Local Government Unit. Specifically, its mandates and fuctions are:

1. Formulate integrated economic, social, physical, and other development plans and policies for consideration of the Municipal Development Council;
2. Conduct continuing studies, researches, and training programs necessary to evolve plans and programs for implementation;
3. Integrate and coordinate all sectoral plans and studies undertaken by the different functional groups or agencies;
4. Monitor and evaluate the implementation of the different development programs, projects and activities in the municipal and compenent barangay government in accordance with the approved development plan;
5. Prepare comprehensive plan and other development planning documents for the consideration of the local development council;
6. Analyze the income and expenditure patterns and formulate and recommend fiscal plans and policies for considerations of the local finance committee of the municiplaity;
7. Promote peoples participation in development planning with the local government of La Paz.;
8. Exercise supervision and control over the secreariat of the Municipal Development Council and;
9. Exercise such other functions and responsibilities as maybe prescribed by the law or ordinace;

a. The comprehive Municipal Zoning Ordinance(2017) prescribes that the office shall act as the technical arm in the implementation and regulation of land use in the municipality.

b. Different Administrative orders as executive by the Local Cheif Executive, directed the Office to be an active member in various sectoral councils.

MISSION

The Municipal and Development Office shall pursue the development of a livable municipality anchored on agro-industrial and sustainable development, We shall provide quality services to plan & formulate economic, social, infrastracture, environmental and other development programs for inter-department coordination in pursuit of the mission and vision of the local government such that the use of the municipality’s land and physical resources yields the greatest benefits to present and future generations.

The Municipal Planning and Development Office of La Paz envision itself as an ever-active contributor and facilitator in the overall and infinite developement, growth and progress of the municipality.
